TECHNICOLOURED FASHION AT THE RED CARPET DURING THE CANNES FILM FESTIVAL

Updated: May 21, 2020

As a fashion extravaganza, the Cannes Film Festival never disappoints. This year was no exception. Whilst the silver screen provided a technicoloured celluloid spectacle, the red carpet dazzled with a technicoloured feast of high fashion. Sometimes it seems as if fashion takes far more prominence than the actual films. And this is understandable as fashion resonates with almost everyone whereas a particular film will only have limited appeal.

Every type of dress was in evidence, but the most popular were ball gowns in every colour imaginable whilst others went for strong coloured revealing cocktail dresses. If you want to get noticed, it never hurts to be bold and daring. I chose to wear a blue crystal encrusted dress by Maison Esthere Maryline that was headlined by Le Figaro as “The starlets on the red carpet Cannes”. Aishwarya Rai looked sublime in her Michael Cinco lace appliqued blue tulle ball gown with sweetheart off-the-shoulder neckline. Fernanda Liz shone brightly wearing a bright canary yellow intricately layered ball gown by Ali Karoui. The Cannes Film Festival is one of the few opportunities a girl can live out the childhood dream of being dres

sed like a princess. What would the world be without dreams?
