Chanel brightened the mood during Paris Fashion Week with its River Seine inspired stage set showcasing its latest collection.
Catwalk looked like crystal-clear water with cascading natural light from the massive glassed dome overhead, provided a magical stage to showcase Chanel’s new autumn collection, perfectly imbuing the essence of the City of Light.
Having taken the helm at Chanel from the legendary Karl Lagerfeld, Virginie Viard has remained a faithful steward of the brand whilst introducing her own personality. She masterfully introduced her wild side as a punk rocker with a pirate inspired theme in Chanel’s Autumn 2020 collection whilst retaining the timeless chic that is the essence of Chanel. Ruffled blouses, admiral buttons on double- breasted jackets, down the side of loose-fitting trousers and across the shoulders of ribbed sweaters, and cavalier boots took us back on a romantic journey. The collection was accented by Spanish-inspired styled jewellery to complete the pirate-themed look. The theme could not have been better timed as the buccaneering spirit is certainly needed amidst such adversity as we face today.
Chanel extraordinary show amazed me with very good memory, new concepts well anchored!
